Virtualization for Servers, Networks, Desktops & Applications

Virtualization for Servers, Networks, Desktops and Applications

Technologies providing server, network, and application virtualization are of paramount importance to many businesses. Virtualization provides scale, efficiency, and agility for applications and compute workloads. TexasPGB consultants have years of expertise working with industry leading virtualization technologies like VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix. Each does have characteristics unto itself and many underlying layers, such as data storage, scalability and cloud considerations, resiliency and high availability features, and virtualized networking. We bring expert understanding and make it accessible to you. We’ve been there, done that, solved problems, and provided intelligent solutions. What that means for you is that you get the most from your virtualization efforts and the very best technical solutions, delivered to you on time and in budget.

Virtualization Expertise Areas

Server Virtualization

When correctly designed and implemented, server virtualization results in cost effectiveness and agility.

  • Cost Savings: You get more out of each dollar you spend on hardware resources

  • Agility: The workload is not bound to any one hardware,  resulting in increased flexibility over how and where that workload operates.

These features make it easier to move workloads, whether to scale resources up or down, or instantiate a service or application elsewhere, such as part of a disaster recovery procedure.

Virtualized Networking

  • Gone are the days where networks designed with rigid layers and immutably defined edges.  With the rise of technologies like Software Defined Networking (SDN) the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), and Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN), we’re in a new era of network scalability, adaptability, and flexibility – both on-premise and in cloud environments. Networks can now shift with and accommodate dynamic workloads to keep pace with the business. This evolution doesn’t come without challenges.  We provide the services and know-how for design, implementation, and operation. You reap the agility, scale, and other benefits of SDN/network virtualization.
  • At TexasPGB we employ SD-WAN as strategic network control points and leverage it to make complex networking routing easier.. With SD-WAN, each node shares its view of the network with the other nodes in real time. This means traffic is identified and routed across the optimal path, taking into account the quality metrics each path has like packet loss, jitter, and latency.
  • Benefits of SD-WAN can include:
  • Aggregation of bandwidth across diverse network links
  • Faster, more intelligent WAN failover
  • Ensure sensitive or critical services like VoIP, video, or remote worker applications and desktops are first in line for performance.
  • Strategic control of your network and its traffic via technology integrations
  • Smart acceleration, caching, and compression to maximize network throughput and reduce load on your network links.
  • Session and traffic flow optimization support for virtualized applications and desktops.  Give your remote workforce the very best “high-definition” experience.
  • Deploy SD-WAN between your enterprise and Azure and you get instantaneous failover, link bonding, and packet deduplication when accessing Azure resources.

Virtual Apps & Desktops

Our extensive partnerships with the best app and desktop virtualization vendors help close the gap between great ideas and ways of working for game-changing outcomes.

Using proven, best practice methodologies, we design and implement your virtual environments to:

  • Drive adoption
  • Improve user experience
  • Enhance security

App and desktop virtualization solutions give your employees what they need to be productive and successful – from any device, over any network.  Your people get a consistent, secure virtual experience. You get peace of mind with the ability to manage, secure, and maintain it centrally, aligned to company standards.

Creating a Remote Workspace with Citrix + Microsoft Teams

TexasPGB offers a seamlessly interconnected platform leveraging Citrix Workspace and Microsoft Teams to give all your employees the productivity, communication, and collaboration tools they need, no matter where they are.

Life’s Better Together: Citrix HDX Optimization for virtualized Teams deployment provides better performance over remote workforces than Teams alone.

A mobile worker has the same experience as an employee sitting in the office – they can access, edit, and share documents, including OneDrive and SharePoint. Every virtualized instance of Microsoft Teams – voice, video, and telephony – is optimized over the network for the best performance and user experience.

From the perspective of technical considerations for IT, Workspace solves the issues of:
  • Installation, updates, and support
  • Integrating with existing applications
  • Device compatibility and management
  • Network performance optimization
  • VoIP and video quality of service
  • Storage of data and chat logs, video recordings, project files

Providing effective virtual services can be achieved at your office, in your datacenter, in the cloud (as a full stack or desktop-as-a-service), or a combination. Since it provides a consistent user experience without regard to what device a user might have, it’s a great fit for enabling remote work and mobility, or as a key component of a disaster recovery/business continuity plan.

No one deployment option is appropriate for every business or use case; TexasPGB understands the advantages and drawbacks for each and we provide trusted technical guidance as we partner with you to design, implement, secure, and operate the very best solution for your organization.

When it comes to automating processes around your business, it can simultaneously seem like everything can be automated, and absolutely nothing can be automated. As with many other things, the real answer is somewhere in the middle but can be a bit challenging to put your finger on. These projects usually start when someone at the strategic level of the organization has decreed that “we are going to automate!” and either they personally go on the hunt for what to automate or they hand it off to someone on their team to go do the leg work and come back with “automation” (maybe in a nice box with a bow on it). Sound familiar?
